Melon mining, storage and transportation of technical essentials

Muskmelon is also known as Melon or Fruit melon. According to ecological characteristics, there are thick-skinned melons and thin-skinned melons. Thick-skinned melons mainly include netted melons, winter melons, and hard-shelled melons; thin-skinned melons are also known as ordinary melons, Chinese melons, oriental melons or melons. Melons are generally marketed in summer and autumn.

First, the melon harvesting standards

1. Store melons. Middle and late-maturing varieties in thick-skinned melons are suitable for storage. The mid-maturing varieties were harvested 40 to 45 days after anthesis and the late-maturing varieties were harvested 65 to 70 days after anthesis. 2. Fresh sales of melon. Thin-skin melons were harvested for 20 to 30 days; early-maturing varieties of thick-skinned melons were harvested 25 to 35 days after flowering. Melon is a ripe melon. However, due to ripening effects, the maturity of the melons during harvesting will vary depending on the use of the melons. In-situ sales or re-selling by short-distance transport should harvest nine mature melons in the early morning; long-distance transport should harvest 89 mature melons at 1 to 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and some varieties have lower maturity; for winter Tibetans should harvest nine mature melons. When harvesting, use a knife or scissors to cut it off. The stalk should be 1 to 2 cm long.

Second, melon pre-memory measures

Take care when harvesting, do not scratch the skin. After the harvest should be sun-dried melon 1 to 2 days. Before conditional storage, the melon can be sterilized and disinfected. There are two methods: 1. Warm water impregnation. Water immersed in 55-60°C (not to exceed 62°C) for 1 minute; 2. Sterilize the reagent. The use of 0.2% sodium hypochlorite or 0.1% concentration of tegudol, benzoate, carbendazim, thiophanate, or 0.05% concentration of imazalil soak 0.5 to 1 minutes, can also be combined with other agents.

Third, the storage characteristics of melon

Thick-skinned muskmelon is extremely resistant to storage due to its thick skin and high sugar content. The suitable storage temperature is 2~3°C and the relative humidity is 85%~90%. For example, under controlled atmosphere storage conditions (3% to 5% oxygen content, 1% to 1.5% carbon dioxide content), temperatures of 3 to 4°C, and relative humidity of about 80% have good storage effects.

Fourth, melon storage method

1. The crypt hanging, racking method. A row of beams 50 centimeters apart are placed in the crypts, and a number of hemp ropes or belts are attached to the beams. Each of the three groups is a group. Every 50 centimeters is a dead knot. The melon is placed between the knot and the knot. Inside, the shank is up. After hanging, put a layer of melon on each shelf and regularly turn melons to prevent them from rot with the wood board. During the early period of storage, cold outside air is allowed to enter the pit during the night and the temperature in the pit is lowered. In the later period, it is necessary to pay attention to the cold, and the relative humidity in the pit must be maintained.

2. Cold storage method. (1) polyethylene film packaging and storage. The use of polyethylene film packaging, the use of nitrogen gas pumping method to quickly reduce the oxygen concentration and increase the carbon dioxide concentration, to achieve the appropriate gas conditions. Ventilate regularly during storage to maintain proper gas conditions. Cold storage should maintain suitable temperature and humidity conditions. (2) Carton storage. The melons are stored in a box, and the cartons are 15 to 30 cm from the floor, and can be stacked in 10 to 20 boxes. There must be gaps between the enthalpy and the enthalpy to ensure that the temperature inside the library is uniform and easy to operate and inspect.

3. Transportation and packaging requirements. After melons are harvested, they should be placed in a cool and cool place. After the melon temperature and respiration are reduced, the melons will be put on the market for labeling, graded packing and other packaging. Packaging generally uses cartons. Vents are provided on the outside of the cartons, and the liners in the cartons are shredded so that the melons do not sway in the box. For near-sale or short-distance transportation, transport at normal temperature, bulk or woven bags or baskets; long-distance transport or export goods must be packed in cartons and transported at low temperatures.
