Indoor potato temperature control and light control technology

(1) After potato tubers are dormant, the buds can germinate at 4 degrees Celsius, and the temperature of 12-18 degrees Celsius is the most suitable. At this time, the roots occur early, and the number of buds is strong. Stem elongation, stolon formation, and leaf expansion require higher temperatures. The enlargement of tubers requires lower night temperatures, which is most suitable for 12-14 degrees Celsius. The increase in nighttime temperatures reduces the transport of sugar to tubers and slows them down. The optimum soil temperature for tuber enlargement is 16-18 degrees Celsius; when the soil temperature is above 25 degrees Celsius, the nutrient transferred to the tuber is not used for accumulation, but is used for the growth of buds. Especially in the case of high soil temperature and drought, buds often sprout. At a soil temperature of 18-23 degrees Celsius and a water holding capacity of 60%-70%, tubers can grow 5g during the day and 1g at night.
(2) The growth of potato during germination requires darkness, light inhibition of shoot elongation, promotion of thickening, hardening of tissues, and production of pigments. In the seedling stage and the hair growth stage, long daylight is beneficial to the growth of stems and leaves and the occurrence of stolons. The period of potato is suitable for short days and the speed of sweet potato is faster. Sugar transport to the tuber under the sunlight for 12 hours was 5 times faster than in the 19 hours.
(3) The potato requires loose soil in the period of hair growth. Afterwards, the soil is also required to be dry and wet, and the soil is kept in a state of loose air. The growth of tubers requires that soil oxygen supply is most important.
