Is That Really a Tail??

There’s something about looking at those adorable baby faces that just makes your heart melt, doesn’t there? It’s like watching a little angel appear in front of you, and suddenly you feel all warm and fuzzy inside—maybe even a little sentimental.  Well, if you're a guy reading this, you probably don’t feel that way… and right now, you might be feeling a bit awkward. That’s totally okay. I’ll stop talking about the emotional side of babies and focus on the real story here. After all, who doesn’t love a good baby story?
This is our little cousin, who we all welcomed into the world with open arms and lots of joy. His dad actually came home from Iraq just three hours before his mom went into labor! You might have heard about him before here.
We’ve had the chance to spend some time with him at our house. Little Blue loves these visits and is always ready to play with him… sometimes a little too much. She grabs the pacifier the second he starts to cry. She wraps him up in blankets if it gets even slightly chilly. She’s always eager to hold the bottle, showering him with kisses and affection. That’s just how it is when you have a baby around.
As the visit continued, this precious little boy started to squirm and show signs of discomfort. It was time for a diaper change. Without a second thought, we laid him down on the mat and began cleaning him up (by “we†I mean “his momâ€). Baby Blue has been involved in every part of taking care of this little guy, so we didn’t think twice about changing him right there… until we heard Baby Blue say, “There’s his tail, right there!†It took me a moment to understand what she meant… and then it hit me. ‘That’ was his ‘tail.’
Yep, baby girl, you’re absolutely right. Little boys do have ‘tails,’ and that’s all we’re going to say about that.
