Big cherry cultivation four major matters needing attention

After the first trial plant development

Big cherries like warm, cold-resistant, drought-tolerant, impatient, fear of high winds, suitable for cultivation in areas with an average annual temperature of 10 °C ~ 15 °C. Practice has proved that when the average annual temperature is higher than 15 °C, large cherries tend to flower more than set fruit. The introduction of the development of large cherry, not only depends on the local average temperature, precipitation, sunshine, frost-free period and other factors, but also carefully analyze the characteristics of the local microclimate, first test plant, after the development.

Development of hard meat type storage and transportation varieties

At present, only a dozen or so fine cherry varieties have been verified through cultivation, and each breed has certain disadvantages. Such as China's own cultivation of red light, it is a big fruit, bright color, juicy sweet, high yield and stable production, but into the late fruit period, thin fruit, soft meat, not processing and storage, only suitable for small area planting. In the future, cultivation of large cherries should choose varieties that are beautiful in appearance, hard in pulp, good in quality, light in rips, resistant to storage, fresh food, and processed.

To prevent root cancer and viral diseases

Choosing suitable rootstock suitable for local cultivation is the key to the success of large cherry cultivation. The most important thing is to see if rootstocks are resistant to root cancer and whether they have viral disease. In the large cherry producing areas, the development of large cherries must not be used to produce heavy cherry, but also can not be used to grow large cherry seedlings; newly developed large cherry production areas, under the premise of identifying good varieties, good anvils, to strictly control the root cancer This is the virus disease.

Both pollination and fruit thinning

Most large cherry varieties are either self-flourished or have low seed setting rates and require cross-pollination. Some large cherry orchards that have not been productive and fruitful for years and have had very few results have not been affected by frost damage. The main reasons for this are the unreasonable allocation of pollination trees, poor flowering time, and poor pollination. Pioneer, Rabins and others are ideal pollination varieties. We should also timely remove weaker fruit branches, remove smaller flowers, remove malformed, improperly positioned small fruits, and deformed fruit. It is appropriate to leave 2 or 3 fruit on each robust fruit branch.
