It is of great economic significance to do a good job of distillation processing of Litsea cubeba L. oil and improve the specification, quality and oil yield of refined oil. The process is now described as follows:
First, the choice and installation of distillation equipment. Distillation equipment is mainly steam drum, boiler, condenser three parts. The steaming buckets are made of wood and iron. Because wooden steaming drums are prone to leaks and volatile oils, the oil yield is low. Therefore, iron steaming barrels are widely used in various producing areas. Whether wood or iron steamer should pay attention to the skin can not be in contact with the fire, so as not to burn the raw material and destroy the quality of the oil. The condenser is preferably of a serpentine type and is preferably made of pure tin. If pure tin is used, it may be tin plated or copper plated. The steam drum is equal to the diameter or height or a height slightly larger than the diameter, and the volume of material is preferably 200 kg. The boiler should be equipped with a new type of product with more than 13 fire pipes. The installation should be done in a place where the water source is convenient. It is best to use tap water with a lower water temperature for cooling. Before and after the installation, the equipment must be inspected carefully. There must be no holes or gaps. All parts of the equipment must be sealed to prevent air leakage.
Second, processing methods and steps. (1) The water is boiled first, and then the raw material is put into a steaming bucket. When raw materials are bottled, they should be evenly packed. Avoid tightness everywhere. (2) The firing of fire requires firewood and fire feet, and it is best to use the boiler to burn coal. When the firepower cannot be large or small, the firepower should be swift when it is steamed first, and the firepower should be kept even after steam comes. (3) The proper amount of water must be maintained in the steamer during distillation. The low water level will cause the scum to stick and affect the quality of the oil. If the water level is too high, the bottom material will be boiled and the oil will be reduced. Therefore, the water meter should always be checked. When the water level drops to one-half, add water to the pan. Tim water should use hot water. After each processing, it is necessary to clean and inspect the boiler and the condenser. (4) The condenser should be completely immersed in cold water. Cooling should use tap water as much as possible, and the water temperature should be kept below 40°C. If the temperature is too high, the oil yield and oiliness will be reduced. (5) When taking the oil, use an oil separator to remove all the water under the oil and put the pure oil into the oil drum. The oil foot should be repeatedly precipitated and filtered before being loaded into the oil drum.
Third, packaging management and transportation. Because of the corrosiveness of Litsea cubeba oil, do not use plastic barrels for light oils. Use iron or galvanized iron barrels. Do not fill. Keep cool and ventilated place when storing, avoid direct sunlight. The combustibles such as waste cotton, rags and other combustibles are easily spontaneously combusted and catch fire. Therefore, they should be handled as dangerous goods during storage and transportation.
