The reporter recently learned from the Guyuan Environmental Protection Bureau of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region that 63 tons of potato starch wastewater produced by 48 starch processing enterprises in Guyuan City last year was used for irrigation in recreational land and irrigated 7713 acres of recreational land, thus realizing zero discharge of potato starch wastewater.

According to the concept of governance by the watershed sub-unit, Guyuan City formulated the "Guyuan Potato Starch Industry Development Plan" and "Guyuan City Potato Starch Wastewater Pollution Prevention Plan" and actively promoted the "proper, proper, suitable, suitable land" starch. Wastewater irrigation and leisure land technology actively guides enterprises and farmers to use starch wastewater for leisure irrigation. According to monitoring data from the environmental protection department, the water quality at the outbound section of the Qingyuan River in the Guyuan section is classified as category V, the exit section of the Huluhe River is classified as category IV, the water quality at the outbound section of the Luohe River is classified as category IV, the water quality at the outbound section of the Luohe River is classified as class II, and the water quality at the exit section of the Zhuhe River is identified as IV. Classes achieve the objective of achieving a Class V water quality at the outfall of major rivers in the municipal districts.
