So, how to reduce the humidity in the chicken house?
1. Remove feces promptly. Chicken manure has a high moisture content (approximately 85%). Accumulation of moisture in the house increases the humidity and affects heat dissipation. It must be cleaned in time. Caged chickens are best cleaned once a day, and flat chickens should be changed at least once a week to dry fresh litter.
2. Increase ventilation. Ventilation is an important measure for cooling, dehumidification, dust removal, and keeping the air fresh in the home. The front and rear windows of the house should be opened to ensure air convection. Larger ventilation fans can also be installed to increase the flow of air inside the house to take away the heat generated by the water vapor and the chicken body.
3. Maintain a reasonable stocking density. Density control depends on the age, management style, ventilation conditions, and season of the chicken and generally requires no more than 30 kg live weight per square meter. The density of litter leveling is lower, and raising or net raising can be increased by 20% compared with the leveling of litter. In well-ventilated houses, the rearing density can be appropriately larger. In the same area of ​​the henhouse, it is better to raise some in the summer than in the winter.
4. Strengthen hen house management. Before the onset of the rainy season, repair the chicken house to prevent leakage. Choose a good absorbent material that absorbs moisture and replace it in time. The litter and chicken excrement can be easily fermented in a humid environment, emitting a variety of harmful gases, and adversely affecting the flock. The moist litter must be removed. Drinking water appliances should not be overfilled to prevent overflow or water leakage.
