Oh, and let's not forget the walnuts! They're totally optional, but honestly, who doesn't love a good crunch? I know I do—probably why I'm always snacking on everything. But hey, if you're not into nuts, feel free to skip 'em. Either way, it's still going to be delicious!

For our Christmas Eve dinner, I really wanted to shake things up and decided to revisit brussels sprouts. Growing up, they were the last thing on my mind—seriously, I couldn’t stand them. But when I was out of town recently, a restaurant served theirs with bacon and cranberries, and it changed my life. From that moment on, I knew I had to recreate this magic at home.

Hello, my name is Tabitha, and I’m officially a brussels sprout convert. Who would’ve thought?

Browsing Pinterest for inspiration gave me a few ideas, but I ended up tweaking the recipe based on what I had in my pantry. That’s where the maple syrup came in—it practically called out to me from the shelf.

I think this might just become one of my go-to holiday dishes. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure how it would turn out, so I didn’t bother taking step-by-step photos. Spoiler alert: it’s super easy, so you don’t need them anyway. After getting tons of requests for the recipe, I decided it was high time I shared it with all of you.

Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts

//Ingredients:

1 bag of brussels sprouts 1/2 pound of bacon 1/2 cup of cranberries 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts 1 clove of minced garlic 3 tablespoons of maple syrup 1 tablespoon of olive oil 1 tablespoon of dijon mustard Dash of salt and pepper

//Process:

Start by cutting the brussels sprouts into quarters and washing them thoroughly. In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, olive oil, dijon mustard, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss the brussels sprouts in this mixture until evenly coated. Next, chop the bacon and cook it in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set it aside, but keep the grease in the pan. Now, add the seasoned brussels sprouts to the pan and sauté for about 10 minutes. Once they’re tender, stir in the garlic, crumbled bacon, cranberries, and chopped walnuts. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Finally, remove the pan from heat and sprinkle some blue cheese on top for an extra burst of flavor. Serve hot and enjoy!

PS. I was so proud of how well the turkey turned out, along with all the other dishes, that we had to snap a picture. It looked like something straight out of a Betty Crocker cookbook, even though there were no trimmings on the platter. Classic, right?
