How to prevent chili virus disease?

Agricultural control is the first step in managing crop diseases. Start by using disease-resistant varieties and promptly removing infected plants. Apply phosphorus, potassium, zinc, and calcium fertilizers, along with foliar sprays to boost plant immunity. Before sowing, disinfect seeds by soaking them in a 0.1% potassium permanganate or trisodium phosphate solution for 10 to 30 minutes, then germinate them. Alternatively, dry seeds can be placed in an oven at 70°C for three days using dry heat treatment. Prepare the seedbed soil by selecting Xinyi block and mixing it with 50% carbendazim at 100g per cubic meter. After sifting, fill the seedbed with this mixture. Then, combine 50% carbendazim with 50% EDFA and manganese zinc, mix with 10 grams of fine dry soil per square meter, and sprinkle it on the surface. During high-temperature periods, watering every 5 to 10 days can increase temperature differences and reduce disease occurrence. Shade nets are recommended to protect crops from excessive heat and sunlight, or intercropping with tall crops like corn, rainbow beans, kidney beans, and melons can also help avoid damage from high temperatures and light exposure.

Second, focus on pest and disease prevention during the seedling stage. Early detection and control of pests such as locusts are crucial during this period. Regular monitoring and timely intervention can prevent serious infestations later on.

Third, chemical control methods can be applied. Solutions like 5% Bacterial Clear diluted 300 times, 1.5% Plant Disease Spirit diluted 500 times, and 800 times zinc sulfate (or 1000 times potassium permanganate) can be mixed with Lufenwei at 1000 times dilution. Other options include 5% Bacterial Poison diluted 300 times, 20% Virus A at 500 times, 500 times trisodium phosphate, plus yellow rot salt. Additionally, 2.8% Ke Lingling diluted 500 times, 1000 times Pepper Ling, and foliar fertilizer can be used. These treatments should be applied according to instructions to ensure effectiveness while minimizing environmental impact.
