Piglet "four supplements" benefit

Piglets are born with limited iron stores, and their rapid growth demands a significant amount of iron for proper development. Before birth, they rely on the mother's blood supply, but after birth, they depend on their own hematopoiesis, which requires adequate iron intake. However, the iron content in sow's milk is very low, making piglets prone to anemia shortly after birth. To prevent this, it's crucial to supplement iron 2–3 days after birth, ensuring their early development remains healthy. Additionally, suckling piglets have underdeveloped gastric function. Their stomachs produce little hydrochloric acid, which limits their ability to kill harmful bacteria. This makes them more susceptible to digestive issues and diarrhea. Providing organic acids can help improve digestion, reduce the risk of gastrointestinal problems, and support better growth performance in young pigs. As sows reach peak lactation around the third week post-birth, their milk production begins to decline. Meanwhile, piglets grow rapidly, and by two weeks of age, their nutritional needs exceed what the sow’s milk can provide. Early introduction of solid feed helps meet these increasing demands while also stimulating the development of the digestive system. It promotes gut health, reduces the risk of diarrhea, and eases the transition to weaning. At seven days old, you can place a small amount of creep feed in an area where the sow cannot reach, allowing piglets to explore and gradually learn to eat. You can even gently place some feed in their mouths to help them recognize the taste. Don’t overlook the importance of clean water. Although piglets get some moisture from milk, their high metabolic rate and the fat-rich nature of breast milk can make them thirsty. Without access to fresh water, they may not grow properly. Moreover, dirty or contaminated water can lead to serious health issues like diarrhea. Starting from three days old, always ensure that clean drinking water is available. If using a fountain, adjust its height so that the piglets can easily reach it and drink comfortably.
