Relevant expert wants to introduce wheatgrass gene to study the prevention and treatment of wheat powdery mildew

At least 34 different resistance genes are currently known in the powdery mildew gene source, because the key genes contained in germplasm such as high-quality, disease-resistant, and stress-resistant germplasm were not clearly studied, and the differences in the same gene source were not properly selected. Genes have caused a major epidemic of powdery mildew. Li Lihui, a researcher of the Institute of Crop Germplasm Resources of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, called for the wheat-powder-heterogeneous new germplasm creation and use. He wanted to use wheatgrass genes to control wheat powdery mildew. Grass (Agropyroncristatum Gaertn., Pgenome), belonging to the genus Eupatorium of the modern wheat plant taxonomy, is a wild relative plant of wheat and has strong resistance to diseases, drought resistance, cold resistance and salt and alkalinity. The topic of “Wheat—the creation and utilization of new heteroplasmy of wheatgrass” was the first in the world to obtain interspecific hybrids between common wheat and wheatgrass; in theory, the genetic status of wheatgrass P genes in the wheat family was proposed. Some new ideas have been created; a number of new gene source materials that meet the wheat breeding and production needs have been created. For example, the discovery of new genes has led to the discovery of a new powdery mildew resistance gene through the derivation of disease-resistant genes and various analyses, and the creation of new germplasm that meets major needs, including new germplasm-resistant powdery mildew germplasm carrying the superior genes of wheatgrass. Two new drought-resistant germplasms, four high-quality and large-spike (super-high-yielding) new germplasms, and one new germplasm with approximately single culm and large ear.
