Mid-term rearing management of laying ducks

The egg production rate of the duck group rose from 60%, and then decreased to 80% after maintaining for a period of time. It was the middle period of the whole laying season. The focus of this issue is to meet the nutritional needs of ducks as much as possible and provide a stable and comfortable living environment to ensure that ducks maintain a high yield level.

After a continuous production of eggs for more than 100 days, ducks and ducks enter the peak of egg production. This stage of ducks is physically deficient due to physical exertion, and the health condition is not as good as the initial and early stages of egg production. If the nutrient supply is insufficient, the egg production rate will decline, even Moulting is a difficult period to raise. The main point of feeding and management is to ensure high yields and strive to maintain the peak period of egg production to more than 400 days. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the following technical points:

(1) To ensure the high yield of feed nutrition, the crude protein content should be increased from 18% to 19% to 20%, and the daily feed amount of each duck should be about 150 grams; the green feed should be fed as much as possible and the amount of water fed should be the same as each duck. Daily 150 grams (or add a variety of vitamins); appropriate increase in the amount of calcium fed, you can add 1% to 2% of the shell powder in the mixed feed, or put the shells in the duck house, free to eat .

(2) The daily light time is stable at 16 to 17 hours and cannot be shortened or extended.

(3) The room temperature is controlled in the range of 5°C to 30°C. When the temperature is lower than 5°C, measures should be taken to prevent cold and keep warm; if it exceeds 30°C, ventilation should be strengthened to prevent it from cooling.

(4) Attention should be paid to strengthening routine epidemic prevention, but it is not appropriate to prevent vaccination and deworming during this period. Pay attention to sanitation and disinfection. The daily operating procedures must be consistent with the duck's habits and laws. The operating procedures should be stable. All stress factors must be prevented to ensure quietness and a good home environment.

(5) Pay attention to strengthening observation and find that problems are solved in time. Whether or not the feeding and management is appropriate during this period mainly depends on whether the egg production rate is stable at the peak standard. It is necessary to observe whether the egg weight or eggshell quality has obvious changes, whether the egg production time is concentrated, whether the mental state is good, and whether the feathers after bathing Wet, etc., find problems and solve them in time. The nutritional level and supply of the diet are determined periodically based on the changes in the mean weight of the duck population and the change in the egg production rate.
