This helps maintain proper air circulation and prevents rot. (2) The substrate used for planting should not be too compact. Cymbidium grandiflorum has thick, white roots, and these benefit from symbiotic blue fungi that aid in nutrient absorption. If the substrate is too tight, it can lead to root rot and poor growth. (3) Since Cymbidium has a large number of roots, it's important not to force them into unnatural positions during planting. Instead, allow the roots to grow naturally and rotate the plant in the same direction to promote even development. (4) Before repotting or dividing the ramets, it’s advisable to slightly dry out the substrate. This makes it easier to remove the plant from the pot without damaging the roots. (5) After fertilization, avoid applying any additional fertilizer immediately. Wait at least 3–4 weeks before resuming regular feeding to prevent over-fertilization and potential root burn. By following these guidelines, you can significantly improve the success rate of trifoliate propagation and ensure healthier, more vigorous growth in your Cymbidium orchids.
