Travel // Our Trip to Miami Beach

Last week, I had the opportunity to spend nearly two weeks in Miami Beach for a work trip that felt more like a mini-vacation. With just enough free time to enjoy quality moments with my little guy and a visit from my mom, it turned into a delightful experience filled with sun, laughter, and good food. The weather was unpredictable—sunny spells mixed with unexpected showers—but that didn’t dampen our spirits. We made the most of it by soaking up the rays whenever possible and embracing the island vibes during the rainy days. A few stops at local juice bars kept us energized, while Cuban coffee (cortadito) became our go-to pick-me-up. And of course, no trip to Miami would be complete without a stroll down Lincoln Road, where we window-shopped to our heart's content. Skylar, bless his little heart, was such a trooper throughout our adventures. Whether basking in the warmth or dodging sudden downpours, he navigated the vibrant chaos of Miami’s multicultural tapestry with ease. From the diverse scents of street food mingling with the fresh ocean breeze to the cacophony of languages echoing off the buildings, he embraced every moment with curiosity and joy. There’s something magical about watching your child soak in new experiences—it makes you feel grateful for every fleeting second. One particularly memorable moment happened when Skylar decided to take a nosedive into the sand. I’ll never forget the look on his face—or the hilarity of trying to clean him up afterward! All those grains seemed determined to hide in every nook and cranny. Meanwhile, the crowd nearby likely thought I was either an overzealous parent or possibly a genius strategist for keeping him entertained. Either way, it was a laugh riot! We also discovered some fantastic spots that quickly became favorites: Nexxt, Crema, Juice and Java, Yardbird, Five Napkin Burger, Paul, and Tapas y Tintos. Each place brought its own unique charm, whether through delicious meals or cozy atmospheres. We’re already dreaming about returning to explore even more hidden gems. As I sit here reflecting on the trip, I’m reminded how travel has this incredible ability to remind us of life’s simple pleasures. It’s not always about grand gestures or fancy vacations; sometimes it’s just being present with loved ones and savoring the beauty in everyday moments. Until next time, South Beach—you’ve got a piece of my heart. xo ![Signature](src="") P.S. If anyone wants tips on surviving sandstorms with toddlers, hit me up—I’ve got stories!
