Travel // Our Trip to Miami Beach
So last week, I had what turned out to be quite a memorable work trip to Miami Beach. Initially, I thought it’d just be a quick stopover, but turns out I ended up staying for nearly two whole weeks. And even though I was working most of the time, I still managed to squeeze in some quality downtime with my little one, and even got to spend some catching-up time with my mom, who joined us for part of the trip. The weather was perfect—mostly sunny with a few rainy spells mixed in. On the sunnier days, we made sure to soak it all in by lounging on the beach or strolling along the boardwalk. When the rain rolled in, we kept ourselves entertained with delicious meals, fresh juices packed with vitamins, Cuban cortaditos to keep us energized, and plenty of window-shopping on Lincoln Road. It was honestly one of the best trips ever.
My little guy, Skylar, was absolutely amazing during our travels. Whether it was walking under the bright Miami sun or trudging through puddles during the rains, he handled everything like a champ. We loved experiencing the vibrant blend of cultures, languages, and flavors in Miami Beach. There’s something magical about how different elements come together here—street life meets high-end shopping, and casual eateries coexist with gourmet restaurants. It’s chaotic yet charming, and we embraced every bit of it.
^^Right before he face-planted into the sand. I couldn’t stop laughing as I grabbed his shirt to clean off the sand from his face and every nook and cranny of his neck and ears. People around us probably thought I was the worst mom ever, but hey, priorities, right?
And now for the fun part—our top picks from Miami Beach! We absolutely adored Nexxt for its trendy vibe, Crema for their fantastic coffee, Juice and Java for their refreshing drinks, Yardbird for its Southern comfort food, Five Napkin Burger for—you guessed it—the burgers, Paul for its cozy atmosphere, and Tapas y Tintos for its delightful small plates. We’re already dreaming about coming back and trying out more places next time. Until then, South Beach, you’ve got our hearts!
