First, select high-quality varieties for grafting and nursery. Use disease-resistant, high-yield, and high-quality winter crown varieties such as No. 1, Xintai Micoma, or other superior types. For grafting, choose black-seed or white-seed pumpkins depending on market demand. Before sowing, ensure proper seed disinfection and bed disinfection to promote the growth of healthy, disease-free seedlings.
Second, apply organic fertilizer thoroughly. Combine decomposed chicken manure, cow dung, and compost (7–10 cubic meters per acre) with biological nitrogen fertilizer (2–3 kg) and potash (4–5 kg). Mix these with fine soil in a ratio of 10–20 times to enhance nutrient absorption and soil structure.
Third, clean the greenhouse thoroughly before planting. Remove all plant residues, weeds, and old crops. Use aerosols like chlorothalonil and dichlorvos for fumigation to reduce pest and disease populations, ensuring a clean and safe environment for new seedlings.
Fourth, implement high-ridge planting with under-membrane irrigation. Create ridges 90 cm wide at the base, 70 cm wide at the top, and 12 cm high, with 30 cm spacing between the bottom ridges and 50 cm between the upper ones. Plant two rows of seedlings with a spacing of 50 cm by 27–30 cm. Use soil rakes to form a central watering ditch and cover the ridges with a 0.9–1 m wide plastic film. Water through the openings in the film to maintain optimal moisture, raise ground temperature, and reduce humidity, which helps prevent diseases.
Fifth, manage fertilization and watering scientifically. Fertilization not only provides essential nutrients but also helps increase soil temperature and promotes strong plant growth. After planting, perform the first harvest to encourage root development and strengthen seedlings. Once the fruits set, apply bio-fertilizers like Shi Jianzhi or Zhen Zhen brand organic fertilizers every time you water. Additionally, starting from the flowering stage, apply a diluted solution of Harvest No. 800 every 5–7 days to improve disease resistance, stress tolerance, and fruit quality.
Watering should be done carefully. Avoid watering before the fruits set to encourage root development. Once the fruits reach 10 cm in length, start watering every 10–15 days initially, then every 6–8 days later. Always water on sunny days and raise the greenhouse temperature to 32–35°C after watering, then ventilate to lower the temperature and reduce disease risk.
Lastly, implement comprehensive pest and disease control. In addition to using disease-free seedlings and maintaining good air circulation, use high-efficiency, low-toxicity pesticides such as polyoxin, wuycin, agricultural streptomycin, and avermectin for targeted treatment. During rainy, snowy, or foggy weather, use aerosol fumigants to control pests and diseases effectively. These practices ensure a healthier crop and better yield.
USB Laser Distance Sensor
JRT usb interface distance sensor board adds a USB port to a Laser Distance Sensor, inexpensive laser distance measurement sensors, allowing customers directly using GBeacon-2.3-Fx.exe software to control the rangefinder sensor. Usb laser distance sensors are the the most popular model devices, it works by measuring the phase of an visible-red laser beam that reflects on the target. Usually, customers would like to choose CH341SER.EXE version to test.
