Spring feeding management

After the start of spring, as temperatures gradually rise, hibernating crickets begin to emerge from their dormant state. When the temperature reaches around 15°C, you may notice some early signs of maggot activity. At this stage, it's a good idea to provide them with a small amount of warm water mixed with milk powder and glucose—this helps them stay hydrated and provides essential nutrients. As temperatures climb above 20°C, most crickets become more active, seeking out holes and searching for food. However, their activity levels and digestive capabilities are still relatively low during this period. To prevent issues like bloating or even death due to weak digestion, it's best to feed them foods with high water content, such as small insects or moist vegetables. Also, be sure to maintain proper insulation to protect them from sudden cold snaps. As the weather continues to warm, you can gradually introduce more digestible and nutrient-rich foods, such as soft vegetables like carrots or lean meats. This will help support their growth and development. From Qingming to Xiaomang, when temperatures range between 20°C and 25°C, most earthworms will come out of their burrows. During this time, they become very active, eat more, and have stronger digestive abilities. It’s important to keep feeding them regularly to avoid slow growth, delayed reproduction, or poor hatching rates. Make sure to monitor their environment and adjust feeding accordingly to ensure optimal health and survival.
