Spring feeding management

After the start of spring, as temperatures gradually rise, hibernating crickets begin to emerge from their dormant state. When the temperature reaches around 15°C, some early signs of maggot activity may appear. At this stage, it's a good idea to provide a small amount of warm water mixed with milk powder and glucose to help them rehydrate and gain energy. This nutrient-rich solution can be sprayed lightly so they can drink it easily. As temperatures climb above 20°C, most crickets become more active, seeking out food sources and burrows. However, their movement and digestive abilities are still relatively weak at this point. To prevent issues like bloating or even death due to low activity and poor digestion, it’s best to offer foods with high moisture content, such as small insects or soft vegetables. It's also important to maintain proper insulation to protect them from sudden cold snaps that could harm their development. As the weather continues to warm up, you can gradually introduce more digestible and nutritious feeds, such as juicy vegetables like carrots or lean meats. These should be given in appropriate amounts to support their growth and energy needs. From Qingming to Xiaomang, when temperatures range between 20°C and 25°C, most earthworms will come out of their burrows and become highly active. During this time, their appetite increases significantly, and their digestive systems become more efficient. It's crucial to keep feeding them consistently to avoid delays in growth, breeding, or reduced hatching success. Make sure to monitor their behavior and adjust feed quantities accordingly to meet their rising demands.
