When a female rabbit is not in heat, male rabbits may be used to stimulate ovulation. To achieve this, an aqueous solution of benzoate was administered, with 0.1 ml injected intramuscularly per rabbit. Within 24 hours, the female typically enters estrus and is receptive to mating. However, it's important that she does not become pregnant at this stage.
Oxytocin is commonly used to induce labor in rabbits that are overdue. For a female that has been pregnant for 31 days, 3–4 units of oxytocin can be injected into the inner thigh muscle. This usually results in delivery within 10–15 minutes, and in some cases, the first litter may be born as quickly as two minutes after injection. It is crucial that females are not bred within 30 days of their last pregnancy to avoid overbreeding and health complications.
After weaning, normal kits do not need to have their bodies dried by hand; instead, they can dry themselves naturally. The use of prolactin helps enhance maternal behavior, encouraging the mother to care for her young. Additionally, feeding lactating females raw sesame seeds, black beans, and other nutrient-rich green feeds can support milk production and improve lactation.
For fattening purposes, a combination of cyclosporine and oxytetracycline feed powder is often used. Each gram of the mixture contains either 3,000 to 5,000 units of oxytetracycline or equivalent tetracycline. Young rabbits, starting from 30 days old, should receive 1 gram daily, mixed into their morning feed. Every 10 days, the dosage is increased by 1 gram. According to trials, these treated rabbits gained 5–10 grams per day, significantly more than those not receiving the treatment.
The scalp method involves using thyroxine to promote hair growth. Adult rabbits are initially fed 10 mg of thyroxine per day, gradually increasing the dose to 40 mg by day 60. After reaching the peak, the amount is slowly reduced and eventually stopped within 30 days. At the start of the treatment, rabbits may show signs of irritability, but this usually subsides within a week.
Dehydrated Onion
Dehydrated onion products come in a diverse array of forms, each offering unique qualities and applications in culinary and industrial settings. Among the primary classifications are dehydrated onion flakes, slices, granules, and powder.
Onion flakes, characterized by their larger size and irregular shapes, retain a texture and visual appeal ideal for adding texture and bursts of flavor to dishes. Slices, typically larger and more uniform in shape than flakes, offer versatility in applications where a milder onion taste or distinct visual presence is desired.
Onion Granules, with their smaller, uniform particles, provide a balance between texture and easy dispersal, making them convenient for seasoning blends and mixes. Meanwhile, Onion Powder, finely ground and highly versatile, serves as a concentrated flavoring agent, seamlessly incorporating into sauces, seasonings, and marinades.
Each classification caters to specific culinary needs, allowing for precise flavor control, texture enhancement, and ease of use. The varying particle sizes and forms enable chefs, manufacturers, and consumers to select the most suitable variant for a wide range of culinary creations and industrial applications.
